SCDF, CC1 partnering for Presidente’s Noche Latino

PHILIPSBURG - The St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF) and CC1 has reached an agreement that would see the two entities partner on Carnival’s Latin Night 2017 as well as CC1 financially supporting Carnival in general.

CC1’s leading beer brand Presidente will play a significant role in Latin Night which will bear its name: Presidente Presents: Noche Latino. The SCDF in turn will be fully responsible for most of the aspects of Latin Night, bringing a second international concert night under the umbrella of the foundation. The SCDF will also be hosting the One Love Reggae Concert.

CC1’s contribution to Carnival has steadily increased in the last few years, focused not only on supporting the foundation financially, but also in general marketing of Carnival in general. Coca Cola produced specially branded cans for Carnival 2016 and will be doing so again for Carnival 2017. The company also uses its vast network in the region to push St. Maarten’s Carnival.

With the Latin Night, its gives Presidente a concert presence on St. Maarten that it enjoys on other islands, most notably Santo Domingo and Puerto Rico where the very popular “Festival Presidente” is held, featuring some of the biggest names in the Latin music genre. The SCDF and Presidente is planning a big push for Presidente’s Noche Latino and expects it to be one of the biggest concerts of Carnival 2017.

“This partnership with CC1 is two-fold. First, as a beverage distributor on St. Maarten that wants to derive a commercial benefit from Carnival, they are supporting to be allowed to carry out business in Carnival Village. Secondly, the marketing opportunities of partnering for one of the biggest nights in the Village is obvious and we are happy that they are on board to assist us with several aspects of Noche Latino,” SCDF President Alston Lourens said.

“As a corporate partner of Carnival in general CC1 has been good to the festival. Expanding partnerships is always something we eagerly do once it benefits Carnival,” he added. Lourens said that all artists for Presidente’s Noche Latino have been booked and promotion will begin in January.cc1xscdf
